pre-IB enriched Grade nine
Course description
This enriched course for students in the pre-International Baccalaureate programme emphasizes high analytical writing, reading, oral communication and thinking skills that students need for success in secondary academic programmes generally and the IB programme particularly. Students will study and interpret texts from contemporary and historical periods, including novels, a play, poems, short stories and they will investigate and create media works. The course content and skills are foundational for pre IB Enriched grade ten and the IB1 (grade 11) and IB2 (grade 12) years.
Prerequisite: Acceptance into the IB Programme.
September-October: Mythology
Classical Greek and Roman mythology; survey of short myths, and
